I had a very poor experience with Wells S&J Collision Center. Laura who is the receptionist/Office administrator was incredibly rude throughout the entire process. I had always heard good things about them so I was happy when I found out that USAA uses them as a covered repair shop when my car mirror got smashed. They were supposed to contact me which never happened. When I called them Laura was very rude and short on the phone. She acted as if we were bothering her. When I got the estimate to repair the dent and the mirror it was fairly priced. I chose to only fix the mirror because I didn't want to give them any more business. Laura said that "I know you can't afford to fix anything else." My wife who is conically ill was asked if her pain management patch was helping her quit smoking (which is annoying but an honest mistake) When my wife (who was called my girlfriend the entire time. Not a huge deal but we have talked to her so many times she should remember that my wife used the term husband). told her about her illness she was berated with questions about her treatment and condition (something that is private). We were talked down to the entire time we had to deal with Laura. I feel bad giving a one star because the work was well done. I'm not sure if I should let USAA know. They are amazing and wouldn't want there customers having that kind of experience.
Great service and workmanship! This review is long overdue as S&J Collision in Wells, ME worked on my car in July of this year and I have been remiss in not getting it posted sooner. Due to an RV wiping out the passenger side of my car while it was parked in a parking lot, it was in need of a great deal of work including replacement of two doors, lock mechanisms, quarter panel and paint. Add to this that I was under a severe time constraint to get the job down quickly because I needed the car in 10 days for a road trip. I selected S&J in Wells because it was a preferred provider of my insurance company. I worked with John who was courteous, friendly and extremely helpful. He provided me with an estimate, coordinated with our insurance company, and arranged for the pickup and return of a rental car for me. He assured me that he could get the parts and get the work done in time for me. He did not disappoint! The work was done on time, everything worked and the paint job was excellent. The car looked brand new again! Despite the anguish of having my car wrecked, I was really pleased with the whole experience as it was virtually painless once I turned the car over to S&J. I would recommend S&J Collision to anyone in need of car body work in the Wells area.
